In the 10th minute, Umberto Perez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rodriguinho de Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rodriguinho de Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Donato Veiga charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Donato Veiga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 29th minute of the game. One of Sousa Barbosa SC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Barriero EC:s goal. Luís Fábio Travassos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodriguinho de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Umberto Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fábio Travassos having to interfere. Umberto Perez took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luís Fábio Travassos. Luís Fábio Travassos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After 44 played minutes Sousa Barbosa SC got a freekick which was hit by Abelardo Gaspar. In the 45th minute of the match Elano Galvão sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luís Fábio Travassos skillfully saved the ball. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Guto Sanches to strike the kick off in the second half. Cláudio Eger might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Fábio Travassos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cláudio Eger ran back to his position shaking his head. If Umberto Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The Sousa Barbosa SC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Barriero EC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
