Spectators: 7177 (Terracing: 5385, Seating: 1650, VIP seats: 142) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Anderson Lara started the match with the kick off. Wonderkids's Valdir Peres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Barbosa in the 5th minute of play. After some careless play in the Wonderkids defense, Anderson Lara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valdir Peres. The Wonderkids fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valdir Peres should have stopped the shot. Clóvis Pinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Heitor Oliveira in the 16th minute of the match. Clóvis Pinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Heitor Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valdir Peres came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Esmeraldino FC's Claudinho Barbosa. But to his dismay, Claudinho Barbosa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 22 minutes into the game, Kauan de Almeida was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Esmeraldino FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wonderkids the free kick. The supporters of Wonderkids booed when Esmeraldino FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kauan de Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valdir Peres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edson Medeiros in the 24th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Dalmo Andrade ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Clóvis Pinho was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. When Wonderkids's Heitor Oliveira in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Esmeraldino FC's goalie prevented a goal. Esmeraldino FC's Clóvis Pinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heitor Oliveira in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 57th minute, Heitor Oliveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 60th minute, Delfim Cearense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Esmeraldino FC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Anderson Lara hit a great ball. Heitor Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute Dalmo Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clóvis Pinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the game, Wonderkids's Heitor Oliveira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Clóvis Pinho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Esmeraldino FC's Edson Medeiros pulled a muscle in his back after 77 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Valdir Peres came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Esmeraldino FC's José Vítor Guedes. But to his dismay, José Vítor Guedes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Dalmo Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Clóvis Pinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Claudinho Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Peres having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Wonderkids's zone, José Vítor Guedes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdir Peres came out of the goal and José Vítor Guedes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Heitor Oliveira in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clóvis Pinho saved Esmeraldino FC from getting behind.
