The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lauro Gomes during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Luís Fábio Travassos made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Evandro Simões sent off a good shot on target. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Guto Sanches made a kick off. Evandro Simões scored 3-1 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luís Fábio Travassos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Evandro Simões's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luís Fábio Travassos was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Luís Fábio Travassos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-1. After a defensive mix-up in Sousa Barbosa SC's zone, Evandro Simões stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Fábio Travassos came out of the goal and Evandro Simões tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 98 minutes, Evandro Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aranha FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evandro Simões was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There was no doubt that Aranha FC were the better team. Aranha FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
