Licor de Xurumela A. C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mansão FC the free kick. 17 minutes into the match, Mansão FC's Rafael Aparecido sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marquinhos Gerber narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edmundo Cerezo during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Nildo Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Durvalino Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vivaldo Queirós having to interfere. Marquinhos Gerber made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Nildo Azevedo sent off a good shot on target. In the 44th minute Rafael Aparecido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marquinhos Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nildo Azevedo got free with Marquinhos Gerber in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmundo Cerezo made a kick off. When Durvalino Matos came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Licor de Xurumela A. C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Durvalino Matos couldn't finish the play. In the 58th match minute, Licor de Xurumela A. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murilo Leme to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the match, Licor de Xurumela A. C.'s Edmundo Cerezo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vivaldo Queirós narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 67 minutes, Durvalino Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Licor de Xurumela A. C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Durvalino Matos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Cerezo in the 69th minute of play forced Mansão FC's goalkeeper Vivaldo Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nildo Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Marquinhos Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marquinhos Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Aparecido, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute Rafael Aparecido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marquinhos Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nildo Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Marquinhos Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nildo Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Licor de Xurumela A. C. had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
