A collision led to Msantos FC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Dráuzio Monteiro hit a great ball. Umberto Linhares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benedito Abraão having to make a save. Antônio Arce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benedito Abraão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Linhares in the 12th minute of play. In the 15th minute Umberto Linhares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedito Abraão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dráuzio Monteiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nilmar Tasso kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Dráuzio Monteiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Catarinense having to interfere. Norberto Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gonçalo Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norberto Matos in the 29th minute of the match. Toninho Medeiros charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Toninho Medeiros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 30th match minute, Mamutes F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toninho Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mamutes F.C.'s goalkeeper Gonçalo Catarinense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Antônio Arce could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Benedito Abraão made a huge save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Umberto Linhares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Umberto Linhares in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benedito Abraão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Msantos FC's Tiago Gabriel Oliveira got a free kick in the 56th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Mamutes F.C.'s goalkeeper Gonçalo Catarinense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Norberto Matos. Toninho Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Msantos FC's zone, Antônio Arce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benedito Abraão came out of the goal and Antônio Arce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gonçalo Catarinense made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Norberto Matos sent off a good shot on target. Gonçalo Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dráuzio Monteiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Umberto Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the match, Msantos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Umberto Linhares came free, but Benedito Abraão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Umberto Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Frédson Arce's late challenge caught a Mamutes F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frédson Arce helped the player get up and apologised. Frédson Arce hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Gonçalo Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dráuzio Monteiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Mamutes F.C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
