In the 16th minute, Oscar Messias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oscar Messias in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luiz Fábio Marquez saved Varginha FC from getting behind. Simão Quintal kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Enéas Guerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 25 minutes into the game, Iuri Motta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Varginha FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ibrahy the free kick. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oscar Messias was the one to do the kick off. Ibrahy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oscar Messias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Varginha FC's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar Messias came free, but Luiz Fábio Marquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Armando Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cauã Figueiredo during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Varginha FC's Cauã Figueiredo got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Varginha FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ibrahy had controlled the match.
