Henrique Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilton Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 40th minute Betinho Trevisan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrique Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute, Betinho Trevisan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Henrique Salles was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2.

Wilton Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Salles having to interfere. Henrique Salles made an important save on a dangerous shot by Percival Munhoz in the 53rd minute. Wilton Queiroz in the 54thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Henrique Salles, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Cunhaporanga made a substitution. Hílton de Mendonça replaced Sílvio Eger. Franklin Carneiro hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Cunhaporanga's Henrique Salles threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Betinho Trevisan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The shot was a little too simple and Henrique Salles could save by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Cunhaporanga's zone, Franklin Carneiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armandinho Alves came out of the goal and Franklin Carneiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Armandinho Alves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rui Ferraz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caveiras FC's Jorge de Brito suffered a sore thigh after 82 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Ernesto Aguiar's late challenge caught a Caveiras FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernesto Aguiar helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Cunhaporanga's Ernesto Aguiar got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute of the match Paulão Aguiar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Armandinho Alves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 85 minutes of play, Caveiras FC's Franklin Carneiro made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Armandinho Alves was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Betinho Trevisan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caveiras FC's Henrique Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betinho Trevisan in the 96th minute of play. Cunhaporanga's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Caveiras FC had won, even though Cunhaporanga had held more of the ball.
