The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Anajateua's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Nilton Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafa Rossi, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. If Rafa Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nilton Saldanha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sandro dos Santos in the 19th minute. In the 21st minute Rafa Rossi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilton Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 minutes of play, Anajateua's Deivid Mello made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adriano Netto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luizão Romero charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luizão Romero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 33 minutes into the game, Anajateua's Gabriel Pereira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adriano Netto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 38th minute, Gabriel Pereira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Anajateua fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Gabriel Pereira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Deivid Mello stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Márcio Massa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Márcio Massa sped through Anajateua's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nilton Saldanha. Gabriel Pereira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Adriano Netto came out and tried to block the shot, but Gabriel Pereira slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 66th minute. Luizão Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 79 minutes into the game, Sandro dos Santos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tapecu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Anajateua the free kick. In the 79th minute, Sandro dos Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nilton Saldanha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Márcio Massa went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Anajateua's zone, Márcio Massa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nilton Saldanha came out of the goal and Márcio Massa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Tapecu supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Anajateua's performance. The match ended with a win for Anajateua.
