Márcio Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Fantini having to interfere. Adriano Netto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kauã Souza in the 19th minute. Adriano Netto made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Kauã Souza sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 22 minutes, Marcelo Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GERA FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcelo Marquez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcelo Marquez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adriano Netto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kauã Souza in the 31st minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in GERA FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 32nd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Tapecu a penalty, 34 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Zé Augusto Novaes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of GERA FC's Orlando Fantini. 0-1. If Marcelo Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute Marcelo Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adriano Netto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Tapecu were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rafa Rossi was the one to do the kick off. If Rafa Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Almir Falcão during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Almir Falcão kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Zé Augusto Novaes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 57th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Márcio Massa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adriano Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kauã Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Kauã Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Tapecu getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Chicão Ramalho hit a great ball. When Kauã Souza came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the GERA FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kauã Souza couldn't finish the play. Kauã Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Adriano Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. GERA FC's Orlando Fantini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save GERA FC from getting a goal against them. Orlando Fantini didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 98th minute, which inside left pole to 0-3. Tapecu's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
