With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nando Melo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Anajateua were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after AS Novelli's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jeremias Mendes took the corner. Anajateua's Gabriel Pereira got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Deivid Mello to make the kick off. Nando Melo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Pereira in the 53rd minute of the match. Cleiton Arantes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilton Saldanha having to interfere. Nilton Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
