Spectators: 6671 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1671, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Erasmo Neiva started the match with the kick off. Cipriano Trancoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Pereira in the 4th minute of play. 8 minutes into the game, Nestor Bittencourt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PALMEIRAS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Anajateua the free kick. The supporters of Anajateua booed when PALMEIRAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Bittencourt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeremias Mendes, 9 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erasmo Neiva in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nilton Saldanha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Anajateua's Pedrão Pinheiro got a free kick in the 14th minute. Emílio Munhoz might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nilton Saldanha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emílio Munhoz ran back to his position shaking his head. After 17 minutes of play, PALMEIRAS's Emílio Munhoz made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nilton Saldanha was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 20 minutes, Emílio Munhoz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PALMEIRAS and the Anajateua players grew even worse after the yellow card. Emílio Munhoz kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After 22 minutes of play, Anajateua's Gabriel Pereira made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cipriano Trancoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! Deivid Mello scored 2-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cipriano Trancoso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind PALMEIRAS's goalkeeper Cipriano Trancoso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeremias Mendes during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erasmo Neiva in the 37th minute of play forced Anajateua's goalkeeper Nilton Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 42 minutes, Gabriel Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Anajateua's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabriel Pereira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Deivid Mello to strike the kick off in the second half. Nilton Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo Neiva in the 57th minute of play. If Erasmo Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nilton Saldanha made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Emílio Munhoz sent off a good shot on target. After 63 played minutes Anajateua got a freekick which was hit by Luizão Romero. Emílio Munhoz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute, Luizão Romero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gabriel Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, PALMEIRAS's Douglas Rosa got a free kick in the 72nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Pereira in the 74th minute of play forced PALMEIRAS's goalkeeper Cipriano Trancoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nilton Saldanha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emílio Munhoz in the 77th minute. Anajateua's Nilton Saldanha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Anajateua from getting a goal against them. After 81 played minutes Anajateua got a freekick which was hit by Pedrão Pinheiro. In the 90th minute Deivid Mello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cipriano Trancoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Anajateua's Deivid Mello in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PALMEIRAS's goalie prevented a goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
