After a defensive mix-up in Estremo SS's zone, Luís Fábio Perez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedrão Abraão came out of the goal and Luís Fábio Perez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Luís Fábio Perez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Foz Cataratas's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Fábio Perez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedrão Abraão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luís Fábio Perez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Tomás Costa came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Foz Cataratas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomás Costa couldn't finish the play. 23 minutes into the game, André Luiz Vaz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estremo SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Foz Cataratas the free kick. The supporters of Foz Cataratas booed when Estremo SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Luiz Vaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Foz Cataratas getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Toninho Camargo hit a great ball. After 27 played minutes, Estremo SS's Paulão do Valle shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Wilson do Valle came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Estremo SS reached it. Dieguinho Lago recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Foz Cataratas's Wilson do Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wanderson Chaves in the 32nd minute of play. Dieguinho Lago could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Wilson do Valle made a huge save. When Percy Pimenta fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Foz Cataratas's protests and gave Percy Pimenta a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Estremo SS booed when Foz Cataratas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Percy Pimenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilson do Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wanderson Chaves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. André Luiz Vaz was shown his second yellow card after 47 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 48th minute, André Luiz Vaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Luís Fábio Perez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedrão Abraão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Pedrão Abraão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fábio Perez in the 66th minute of the match. Luís Fábio Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrão Abraão having to interfere. Dieguinho Lago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson do Valle having to interfere. If Aírton Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilson do Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dieguinho Lago, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After 78 played minutes Foz Cataratas got a freekick which was hit by Enio Gaúcho. Foz Cataratas's Wilson do Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dieguinho Lago in the 81st minute of play. If Tomás Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the game, Aírton Prado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estremo SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Foz Cataratas the free kick. In the 90th match minute, Estremo SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aírton Prado to maneuver through the defense. After 91 played minutes Estremo SS got a freekick which was hit by Aírton Prado. 96 minutes into the match, Foz Cataratas's goal looked a bit too open when Dieguinho Lago came free, but Wilson do Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
