Bill Phasey came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Itamari AD's Luiz Fernando Aparecido. But to his dismay, Luiz Fernando Aparecido quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Bill Phasey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fernando Aparecido in the 44th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilton Donato to make the kick off. Wilton Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bill Phasey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Fernando Aparecido in the 57th minute. In the 63rd minute, Antonello Fagnani ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Durvalino Paiva was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Camilo Guillerme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bill Phasey made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Luiz Fernando Aparecido sent off a good shot on target. When Antonello Fagnani came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the CORINTHIANS-DF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antonello Fagnani couldn't finish the play. 77 minutes into the match, CORINTHIANS-DF's goal looked a bit too open when Wilton Donato came free, but Bill Phasey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 80 played minutes Wilton Donato rounded CORINTHIANS-DF's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-4. In the 83rd minute, CORINTHIANS-DF's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Luiz Fernando Aparecido fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Antonello Fagnani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. CORINTHIANS-DF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agnaldo Dante was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Camilo Guillerme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Itamari AD supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Itamari AD would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
