In the 18thth minute of the game Válbson Paulista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Luzerna's Tostão Pena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luzerna's Tostão Pena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Válbson Paulista in the 19th minute of play. In the 21stth minute of the game Válbson Paulista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Luzerna's Tostão Pena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 23 minutes into the game, Válbson Paulista cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Tostão Pena was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 26 minutes into the match, Luzerna's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Leão came free, but Tostão Pena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to delPino F.C. getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Luizão Dracena hit a great ball. Manuel Leão took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tostão Pena. Tostão Pena dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Manuel Leão might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tostão Pena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manuel Leão ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Luzerna's Nicolas Varela got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After 37 played minutes delPino F.C. got a freekick which was hit by João Francisco Luz. After some careless play in the Luzerna defense, Manuel Leão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tostão Pena. The Luzerna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tostão Pena should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After 70 minutes, Ademir de Lima mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Luzerna and the delPino F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th minute, Ademir de Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Válbson Paulista struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Tostão Pena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for delPino F.C.. The audience thought a goal was coming when Válbson Paulista got free with Tostão Pena in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. delPino F.C.'s Válbson Paulista came free and shot a quick shot against goal 77 minutes in the game, fortunately Tostão Pena had problems saving as it came toward the left post.
