In the 11th minute, Manuel Leão ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Penha was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 17th minute, Arí Silveira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Penha was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The audience was convinced that Válbson Paulista's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardo Penha was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Manuel Leão put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Ricardo Penha. Guaxupe's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Romário Freitas ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ricardo Penha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Válbson Paulista's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. The audience was convinced that Válbson Paulista's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardo Penha was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. After the first half delPino F.C. were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A collision led to Guaxupe getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Enio Monteiro hit a great ball. With a little luck, Guaxupe's Ricardo Penha got control of the ball when Romário Freitas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tomé Mesquita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. delPino F.C.'s Válbson Paulista got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ricardo Penha made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Válbson Paulista sent off a good shot on target. 79 minutes into the game, Manuel Leão recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ricardo Penha. Manuel Leão showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. Manuel Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Ricardo Penha managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when delPino F.C.'s Válbson Paulista fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Manuel Leão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Penha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. When the match was over delPino F.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Guaxupe throughout the match.
