An unexpectedly hard shot by Ian Pinho in the 17th minute of play forced Goias E. C.'s goalkeeper Valério Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ian Pinho scored 0-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valério Ferreira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Goias E. C.'s Valério Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ian Pinho in the 27th minute of play. In the 28th minute Júlio Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Eduardo Moreno kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cristian Barros. That made the score 1-1 in the 29 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Itapeua's Nico Barbosa got a free kick in the 32nd minute. 35 minutes into the match, Vágner Moura had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristian Barros. Itapeua's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vágner Moura was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 40th minute, Ian Pinho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valério Ferreira was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Valério Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Vaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Ian Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itapeua's supporters rose to their feet, but Ian Pinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valério Ferreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The wind increased when Silvinho Soares made the kick off in the second half. Cristian Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvinho Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vágner Moura in the 53rd minute of the match. 55 minutes into the game, Goias E. C.'s Silvinho Soares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cristian Barros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Itapeua's Ian Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valério Ferreira was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Nico Barbosa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nico Barbosa really showed his touch with that goal: 3-3. Valério Ferreira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ian Pinho went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-4 was the resulting score. Itapeua made a substitution. Sandrinho Abraão replaced Nico Barbosa. Valério Ferreira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ian Pinho in the 73rd minute. 79 minutes into the game, Vágner Moura cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-4. Cristian Barros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 86 minutes into the match, Itapeua's goal looked a bit too open when Silvinho Soares came free, but Cristian Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valério Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Vaz in the 89th minute of play. Pedro Paulo Vaz kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Cristian Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvinho Soares in the 91st minute of play. Ian Pinho's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 94thth minute, Valério Ferreira skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Despite being the better team, Itapeua failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
