The audience was convinced that Renatinho Saraiva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Paulo Vaz was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. If Nicolas Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The coaching staff of Aracruz protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ademar Ortiz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 40th minute, one of Aracruz:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Aracruz. The goalkeeper, José Paulo Vaz, was totally fooled by Pintadinha FC's Felipe Tande, who 42 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When Renatinho Saraiva, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 47 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The José Paulo Vaz was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Pintadinha FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
