Caruara SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Fábio da Rocha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cléberson Diniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Fábio da Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 19 minutes into the game, Pedro Luiz Ferraz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Caruara SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caruaru FC the free kick. Pedro Luiz Ferraz kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Wilian Favoretto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cléberson Diniz. Caruaru FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilian Favoretto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 28 played minutes Caruara SS got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fábio da Rocha. Frédson Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aníbal Quirino in the 30th minute of the match. When Caruara SS's Wilian Favoretto in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Caruaru FC's goalie prevented a goal. Luís Fábio da Rocha struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Cléberson Diniz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caruara SS. After 40th play minutes Luís Fábio da Rocha shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Cléberson Diniz and just under the crossbar into goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bebeto Faria during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 45 played minutes Caruaru FC got a freekick which was hit by Bebeto Faria. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Luís Fábio da Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caruara SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Fábio da Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cléberson Diniz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After a rather tough play, Caruara SS's Betão Severo got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Nicolas Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frédson Magalhães having to interfere. Betão Severo kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Frédson Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Salles in the 70th minute of play. Aníbal Quirino scored 1-3 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Frédson Magalhães, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nicolas Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Caruara SS's Wilian Favoretto in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Caruaru FC's goalie prevented a goal. Aníbal Quirino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Caruara SS's Wilian Favoretto got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Luís Fábio da Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Caruara SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Fábio da Rocha couldn't finish the play. Caruaru FC's Cléberson Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilian Favoretto in the 97th minute of play. The Caruara SS players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
