Chocolatal's Marcelinho do Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betinho Pinho in the 27th minute of play. Marcelinho do Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betinho Pinho in the 29th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Gororos's goalkeeper Rui Coelho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dudu Quintal. Gororos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chocolatal the free kick. After 57 played minutes Gororos got a freekick which was hit by Denílson Pires.
