Angelo Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betinho Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. AMÉRICO.FC were furious when Cristian Baiano was red carded, 18 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Cristian Baiano hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After having played for 20 minutes, Eurico Lago managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gororos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eurico Lago was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 22 minutes, Afonsinho Paes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gororos and the AMÉRICO.FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 22 played minutes Gororos got a freekick which was hit by Afonsinho Paes. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gororos's goalkeeper Rui Coelho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 25 minutes of play, Gororos's Cristiano Prestes made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Angelo Corrêa was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 30th minute, Cristiano Prestes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Angelo Corrêa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 36 minutes into the match, Betinho Pinho notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of AMÉRICO.FC's Angelo Corrêa. Angelo Corrêa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wágner Aparecido in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rui Coelho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 48 minutes into the match, AMÉRICO.FC's goal looked a bit too open when Betinho Pinho came free, but Angelo Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Gororos were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristiano Prestes was the one to do the kick off. Rui Coelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kauã Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Afonsinho Paes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Angelo Corrêa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Gualter Matos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rui Coelho. Gororos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 69 minutes, Wágner Aparecido managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AMÉRICO.FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wágner Aparecido was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Betinho Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the game, Renatinho Motta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AMÉRICO.FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gororos the free kick. Renatinho Motta hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match.
