A collision led to Monte Roraima getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Claudinho Barbosa hit a great ball. If Manoel Zonta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Armandinho Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Sevilha EC's zone, Armandinho Messias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vágner Secco came out of the goal and Armandinho Messias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armandinho Messias in the 24th minute of play forced Sevilha EC's goalkeeper Vágner Secco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute, Filipe Eger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 34 played minutes Sevilha EC got a freekick which was hit by Hílton Gaspar. When Doriva Toledo fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sevilha EC's protests and gave Doriva Toledo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Monte Roraima booed when Sevilha EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doriva Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Valdo Vides managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monte Roraima's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdo Vides was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vágner Secco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Monte Roraima's Claudinho Barbosa got a free kick in the 47th minute. Falcão Meira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manoel Zonta in the 49th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roger Pinho to make the kick off. In the 55th minute of the match Sevilha EC got a corner. Monte Roraima's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edgar de Mendonça ran over to the corner to take the kick. Falcão Meira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roger Pinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 59th minute, Valdo Vides got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sandrinho Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute, Manoel Zonta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Valdo Vides came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Monte Roraima fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdo Vides couldn't finish the play. Monte Roraima's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
