Spectators: 6659 (Terracing: 5003, Seating: 1654, VIP seats: 2) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Faustão Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Novaes having to interfere. If Faustão Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elias Novaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faustão Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Ian Senna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ian Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Juninho Capixaba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 17 minutes, Orlando Martins mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the E.F JFL Palmares and the Piranguinho FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Juninho Capixaba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adalberto Mazza in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Ian Senna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, E.F JFL Palmares's Sérgio da Silveira got a free kick in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adalberto Mazza in the 39th minute of play forced E.F JFL Palmares's goalkeeper Juninho Capixaba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute Piranguinho FC were awarded a corner. Yan Costa went to the cornerflag to take it.

When José Augusto Domingues fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored E.F JFL Palmares's protests and gave José Augusto Domingues a yellow card for diving instead. Yan Costa was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 56th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Adalberto Mazza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Capixaba having to interfere. With a little luck, E.F JFL Palmares's Juninho Capixaba got control of the ball when Ian Senna tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Gustavo Teles during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Luís Gustavo Teles hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmir Borges in the 77th minute of play forced Piranguinho FC's goalkeeper Elias Novaes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walmir Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Adalberto Mazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the match, Piranguinho FC's Adalberto Mazza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Juninho Capixaba narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 97thth minute of the game Adalberto Mazza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but E.F JFL Palmares's Juninho Capixaba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
