Alfredão Berger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik Catarinense in the 18th minute of play. Falcão Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Alfredão Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Eucalipto EC's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Rosa came free, but Zeca Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Juninho Rosa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zeca Schmidt was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Falcão Moraes sped through Santa Cruz Futebol Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alfredão Berger. Erik Catarinense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Eucalipto EC's Erik Catarinense, in the 43rd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Eucalipto EC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Eduardo Freire in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredão Berger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Erik Catarinense made the kick off in the second half. Zeca Schmidt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvério da Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Santa Cruz Futebol Clube's zone, Falcão Moraes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredão Berger came out of the goal and Falcão Moraes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Carlos Eduardo Freire kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alfredão Berger. That made the score 0-3 in the 60 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Catarinense in the 64th minute of play forced Santa Cruz Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Alfredão Berger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Falcão Moraes got free with Alfredão Berger in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Santa Cruz Futebol Clube's Alfredão Berger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Santa Cruz Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Erik Catarinense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfredão Berger was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. In the 76th minute Erik Catarinense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredão Berger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Falcão Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredão Berger having to interfere. Eucalipto EC played a much better game than Santa Cruz Futebol Clube and deserved their victory. The Santa Cruz Futebol Clube players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
