When Guga Carneiro fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manguaça's protests and gave Guga Carneiro a yellow card for diving instead. Guga Carneiro hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Tomás Nóbrega kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Dito Urbano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guga Carneiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Guga Carneiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The wind increased when Zé Roberto Sabóia made the kick off in the second half. If Haroldo de Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 82 played minutes Manguaça got a freekick which was hit by Dráuzio Mendes. Guga Carneiro struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Dito Urbano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manguaça. Doni Coelho charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Doni Coelho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 94th minute, Doni Coelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Joana EC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Magno Alves hit a great ball. Guga Carneiro struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Dito Urbano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manguaça. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Manguaça had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
