Grêmio Mello AC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abelardo do Nascimento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abelardo do Nascimento in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Válter Teles saved Grêmio Mello AC from getting behind. If Rony Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abelardo do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válter Teles having to interfere. Válter Teles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fábio Lopez went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. 47 minutes into the game, Osvaldo Silveira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Patriota's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grêmio Mello AC the free kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vicente Pirani during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Patriota booed when Grêmio Mello AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Pirani didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Patriota's Rony Branco slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Válter Teles. That made the score 0-5 after 83 minutes of play.
