An unexpectedly hard shot by Diogo Lima in the 5th minute of play forced Patriota's goalkeeper Arnaldo Coelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fábio Lopez hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Joélson Loyola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rony Branco in the 8th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rony Branco in the 14th minute of play forced Liberteide FC's goalkeeper Joélson Loyola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patriota's Abelardo do Nascimento got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 20th minute Rony Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joélson Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Liberteide FC's Joélson Loyola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rony Branco in the 35th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Osvaldo Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Patriota's supporters rose to their feet, but Osvaldo Silveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joélson Loyola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 47 minutes into the match, Abelardo do Nascimento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joélson Loyola. Liberteide FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abelardo do Nascimento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Rony Branco made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Liberteide FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rony Branco came free, but Joélson Loyola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abelardo do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joélson Loyola having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Abelardo do Nascimento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Patriota fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 64th minute Rony Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joélson Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Patriota's Rony Branco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joélson Loyola narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Abelardo do Nascimento's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joélson Loyola was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. In the 70th match minute, Liberteide FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renatinho Fernandez to maneuver through the defense. 71 minutes into the game, Abelardo do Nascimento cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Joélson Loyola was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Renatinho Fernandez hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Joélson Loyola came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Patriota's Rony Branco. But to his dismay, Rony Branco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Patriota walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
