Wellington Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Douglas Bertassi having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruninho Silva in the 21st minute of play forced E.C.Vitoria's goalkeeper Márcio Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zézinho de Queiroz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Márcio Matos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. In the 91st minute, Wellington Borges got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wellington Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. E.C.Vitoria were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
