Evaristo Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Márcio Matos having to interfere. The supporters of E.C.Vitoria booed when E. C. Vila Mariana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cléber Palmeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wellington Borges to make the kick off. Aníbal Gaspar hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. 56 minutes into the game, E. C. Vila Mariana's Evaristo Oliveira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Márcio Matos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Márcio Matos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Sá in the 61st minute of play. E.C.Vitoria's Aníbal Gaspar got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. E. C. Vila Mariana's Joélson Quadros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wellington Borges in the 65th minute of play. After 67 minutes E. C. Vila Mariana's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Wellington Borges who took care of the corner kick. In the 71st minute, Evaristo Oliveira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The E. C. Vila Mariana fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Evaristo Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Márcio Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Luís Tande in the 77th minute of play forced E.C.Vitoria's goalkeeper Márcio Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joélson Quadros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wellington Borges in the 78th minute of the match. E.C.Vitoria's Márcio Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severino Sá in the 90th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Severino Sá made a precise shot to the right of Márcio Matos. E.C.Vitoria's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-2. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. E. C. Vila Mariana were victorious despite being under pressure from E.C.Vitoria for much of the match.
