Spectators: 7231 (Terracing: 5425, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nuno Donato got the match started through his kick off. After some careless play in the Formos defense, Carlos Augusto Reis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Doni Alves. The Formos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Doni Alves should have stopped the shot. In the 13th minute Nuno Donato shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doni Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute, Formos's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Giuseppe Mattos fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Pedro Luiz Vinhas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Chico Alves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Giuseppe Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nando Abreu's late challenge caught a Glycerio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nando Abreu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Glycerio booed when Formos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nando Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Doni Alves managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when Glycerio's Giuseppe Mattos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Glycerio getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Nuno Vieira hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giuseppe Mattos got free with Doni Alves in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Glycerio's Giuseppe Mattos got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chico Alves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Soeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reinaldo Vianna to make the kick off. After 53 minutes, Hélder Soeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Formos and the Glycerio players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hélder Soeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Giuseppe Mattos took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Doni Alves. Doni Alves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After a rather tough play, Glycerio's Nuno Donato got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 68th minute of the match Betão Pinheiro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Chico Alves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 80thth minute of the game Giuseppe Mattos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Formos's Doni Alves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 83rd minute Téo Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doni Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Doni Alves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giuseppe Mattos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giuseppe Mattos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doni Alves having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Formos's goal looked a bit too open when Giuseppe Mattos came free, but Doni Alves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Giuseppe Mattos in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Doni Alves saved Formos from getting behind. In the 96th minute, one of Formos:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Formos.
