The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Marcelinho Pimenta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Augusto Favoretto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Edgar Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vânderson Borges in the 87th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Santos De Lima's Gerson Paraense got a free kick in the 91st minute. Tony Arósio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for José Augusto Favoretto. Santos De Lima's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Marcelinho Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Augusto Favoretto having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edvaldo Perez during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Edvaldo Perez kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
