An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Gerber in the 31st minute of play forced Polungu SS's goalkeeper Horácio Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute Reynaldo Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horácio Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45thth minute of the game Ramiro Gerber who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Polungu SS's Horácio Cabral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Silvério Capixaba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ramiro Gerber to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Castelo FC's zone, Silvério Capixaba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacinto Fernandes came out of the goal and Silvério Capixaba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Horácio Cabral made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Reynaldo Fernandez sent off a good shot on target. After recieving a nice pass, Castelo FC's Didi Sarmento tried to score from far away in the 60th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Jacinto Fernandes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fábio de Azevedo in the 64th minute of play. After 65 minutes, Marcos Sergipano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Castelo FC and the Polungu SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marcos Sergipano kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Castelo FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
