After a defensive mix-up in Korokas's zone, Ademar Vides stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Álvaro Nascimento came out of the goal and Ademar Vides tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomé Cordeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodriguinho Mesquita, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Álvaro Nascimento stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ademar Vides's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. When Flávio Cunha fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Korokas's protests and gave Flávio Cunha a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Korokas getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Flávio Cunha hit a great ball. Álvaro Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ademar Vides, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After 12 played minutes Atlético Clube Goianiense got a freekick which was hit by Adalberto Salles. 13 minutes into the match, Korokas's Válbson Velasco broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Tomé Cordeiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodriguinho Mesquita's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Atlético Clube Goianiense's goal looked a bit too open when Fábio Peres came free, but Tomé Cordeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomé Cordeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodriguinho Mesquita, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Ademar Vides sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alessandro Aparecido recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Korokas's Fábio Peres in the 48th minute got a chance for a shot 48th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atlético Clube Goianiense's goalie prevented a goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ademar Vides to strike the kick off in the second half. Korokas's Rodriguinho Mesquita got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Fábio Peres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomé Cordeiro was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. 66 minutes into the match, Korokas's goal looked a bit too open when Alessandro Aparecido came free, but Álvaro Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The attack was good, but when Fábio Peres in the 74th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. A very good chance. 90 minutes into the match, Korokas's Rodriguinho Mesquita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tomé Cordeiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rodriguinho Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomé Cordeiro having to interfere. When Ademar Vides came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Atlético Clube Goianiense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ademar Vides couldn't finish the play.
