With a couple of smart ball manuevers Délio Paraíba in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo José Valle saved Itahum from getting behind. A collision led to S.E. Caeté getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Jorginho de Andrade hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the match, S.E. Caeté's goal looked a bit too open when Betinho Diniz came free, but Ismael Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Itahum booed when S.E. Caeté was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Carlos Cordeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. S.E. Caeté's Ismael Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Décio Lira in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Zé Carlos Cordeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S.E. Caeté's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itahum the free kick. Zé Carlos Cordeiro hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Ismael Romero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Décio Lira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rony Teixeira struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Paulo José Valle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S.E. Caeté. Délio Paraíba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th minute, Gabriel Pitta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo José Valle was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. S.E. Caeté's Evandro Maia suffered a concussion in the 42nd minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. 43 minutes into the game, Valdo Pontes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itahum's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.E. Caeté the free kick. A collision led to Itahum getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Valdo Pontes hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Décio Lira made a kick off. If Josué Fantini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo José Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Délio Paraíba, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. After having played for 60 minutes, Délio Paraíba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.E. Caeté's supporters crossed their fingers, but Délio Paraíba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Josué Fantini managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.E. Caeté's supporters rose to their feet, but Josué Fantini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo José Valle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 85th minute, Valdo Pontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zé Carlos Cordeiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 86th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Paulo José Valle. Itahum's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Délio Paraíba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulo José Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Pitta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Jarbas Alcântara came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Itahum fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jarbas Alcântara couldn't finish the play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
