Gernando Valladares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Luizinho Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Percy Senna came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Galaticos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Percy Senna couldn't finish the play. Guama's Glauco das Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ediberto Neto in the 11th minute of play. Lino Mandrak's late challenge caught a Galaticos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lino Mandrak helped the player get up and apologised. Luizinho Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olavo Negri, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Pedro Augusto Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Luizinho Amaral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gernando Valladares in the 17th minute. Percy Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glauco das Neves having to interfere. When Ediberto Neto came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Galaticos fans jumped to their feet. In the 22nd match minute, Guama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artur de Amorim to maneuver through the defense. Galaticos's Luizinho Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olavo Negri in the 26th minute of play. After 27 played minutes Galaticos got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Montenegro. Luizinho Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cauan Lago, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Artur de Amorim shot from long distance in the 30th minute, but Luizinho Amaral was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. 38 minutes into the game, Emílio Antunes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Galaticos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guama the free kick. In the 38th minute, Emílio Antunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Percy Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glauco das Neves having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Artur de Amorim made in the 56th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Zézinho Barreto. In the 59th minute, Pedro Augusto Rodrigues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Augusto Rodrigues in the 66th minute of play forced Guama's goalkeeper Glauco das Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ediberto Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ediberto Neto scored 1-2 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Glauco das Neves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gernando Valladares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizinho Amaral having to interfere. If Olavo Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gernando Valladares took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luizinho Amaral. Luizinho Amaral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Galaticos players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
