Eduardo Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eduardo Lima got free with Leonel Lopez in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 19th minute, Luan Sanches reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Leonel Lopez. The goal made the score 2-0. If Rodrigo Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Leão da ilha EC's Túlio Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Amorim in the 26th minute of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo Lima couldn't finish the play. Benjamim Cordeiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonel Lopez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benjamim Cordeiro ran back to his position shaking his head. Rodrigo Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Eduardo Lima's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonel Lopez was relentless in the 40th minute of the game.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eduardo Lima made a kick off. If Rodrigo Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. Leonel Lopez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Luan Sanches managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leão da ilha EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luan Sanches was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonel Lopez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fernando Amorim hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Luiz Eduardo Neto charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Leão da ilha EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo Lima was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eduardo Lima in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leonel Lopez saved Tanhacu from getting behind.
