Thomás Cosme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osmar Duarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 7 minutes into the match, C.A. Catarinense's Osmar Duarte sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thomás Cosme narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sidnei França struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Thomás Cosme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A. Catarinense. Franklin Vieira hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Cido Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Teles having to interfere. A collision led to C.A. Catarinense getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Franklin Vieira hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osmar Duarte in the 21st minute of play forced FOX's goalkeeper Thomás Cosme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cido Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cido Simões recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andrézinho Bittencourt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Arnaldo Teles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cido Simões in the 39th minute of play forced C.A. Catarinense's goalkeeper Arnaldo Teles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thomás Cosme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osmar Duarte in the 41st minute of the match. Renato Motta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Thomás Cosme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cido Simões stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Renato Motta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomás Cosme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rubinho Veloso's late challenge caught a C.A. Catarinense's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rubinho Veloso helped the player get up and apologised. Renato Motta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thomás Cosme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osmar Duarte in the 63rd minute of play. A collision led to FOX getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Andrézinho Bittencourt hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osmar Duarte in the 66th minute of play forced FOX's goalkeeper Thomás Cosme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67thth minute of the game Osmar Duarte who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FOX's Thomás Cosme was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Osmar Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thomás Cosme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renato Motta in the 76th minute of play. After a rather tough play, FOX's Nelsinho Arce got a free kick in the 77th minute. Thomás Cosme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osmar Duarte in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 86th minute, Andrézinho Bittencourt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Nelsinho Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrézinho Bittencourt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Teles having to interfere. Thomás Cosme came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by C.A. Catarinense's Renato Motta. But to his dismay, Renato Motta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The supporters of C.A. Catarinense booed when FOX was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nelsinho Arce didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Osmar Duarte managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A. Catarinense's supporters rose to their feet, but Osmar Duarte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomás Cosme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the FOX players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for C.A. Catarinense.
