Zé de Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Dedê Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 10 minutes, Moisés Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. EC Calango's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moisés Martins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 11 minutes, Percival Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. EC Calango's Dagoberto Penha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedito de Andrade in the 13th minute of play. Moisés Martins's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Dedê Ramos skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. EC Calango's Gonçalo Neiva got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Percival Teixeira got free with Dedê Ramos in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Inácio Fonseca fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hamburgo's protests and gave Inácio Fonseca a yellow card for diving instead. In the 26th match minute, Hamburgo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Inácio Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. Moisés Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Dedê Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé de Senna might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dedê Ramos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé de Senna ran back to his position shaking his head. Moisés Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedê Ramos having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivo Lucas during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ivo Lucas hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. A collision led to Hamburgo getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Guto Félix hit a great ball. Dedê Ramos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moisés Martins in the 38th minute of the match. Chico Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Zé de Senna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Francisco Azevedo hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. When EC Calango's Moisés Martins in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hamburgo's goalie prevented a goal. Dagoberto Penha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inácio Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benedito de Andrade was the one to do the kick off. Chico Godoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Moisés Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot. EC Calango's supporters rose to their feet, but Moisés Martins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dedê Ramos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When EC Calango's Moisés Martins in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hamburgo's goalie prevented a goal. If Gonçalo Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hamburgo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Zé de Senna was slow to take the kick. During this time EC Calango's players had a chance to rest. Percival Teixeira's late challenge caught a Hamburgo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Percival Teixeira helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to EC Calango getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Percival Teixeira hit a great ball. When Benedito de Andrade came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Hamburgo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benedito de Andrade couldn't finish the play. Hamburgo's Dedê Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Percival Teixeira in the 71st minute of play. The supporters of Hamburgo booed when EC Calango was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serginho Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dagoberto Penha acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 76th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Donato Pinheiro. Hamburgo's Dedê Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chico Godoi in the 81st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Moisés Martins in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dedê Ramos saved Hamburgo from getting behind. If Zé de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé de Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedê Ramos having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, Hamburgo's goal looked a bit too open when Gonçalo Neiva came free, but Dedê Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee ended the match the EC Calango players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
