Chico Godoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Serginho Machado made in the 12th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Flamengo CRF's Roberto Alves. The supporters of EC Calango booed when Flamengo CRF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Allan Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Moisés Martins's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 16thth minute, Duda Pimenta skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Allan Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duda Pimenta came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by EC Calango's Zé de Senna. But to his dismay, Zé de Senna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. When Luiz Fabiano Furtado fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored EC Calango's protests and gave Luiz Fabiano Furtado a yellow card for diving instead. Luiz Fabiano Furtado kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Flamengo CRF's zone, Gonçalo Neiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Duda Pimenta came out of the goal and Gonçalo Neiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chico Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Duda Pimenta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Moisés Martins put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Duda Pimenta. 40 minutes into the game, Percival Teixeira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Duda Pimenta. Percival Teixeira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Flamengo CRF's Duda Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moisés Martins in the 46th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hermínio Veiga made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Moisés Martins's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Duda Pimenta was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Flamengo CRF's zone, Percival Teixeira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Duda Pimenta came out of the goal and Percival Teixeira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zé de Senna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Duda Pimenta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Serginho Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Duda Pimenta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Percival Teixeira in the 68th minute of play. Duda Pimenta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Moisés Martins's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. In the 74th minute Moisés Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duda Pimenta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Hermínio Veiga kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dagoberto Penha. That made the score 3-1 in the 76 minute of play. A collision led to Flamengo CRF getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Hermínio Veiga hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Flamengo CRF's zone, Moisés Martins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Duda Pimenta came out of the goal and Moisés Martins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Percival Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot. EC Calango's supporters rose to their feet, but Percival Teixeira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duda Pimenta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
