Jailson Mesquita made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Hermínio Veiga sent off a good shot on target. Flamengo CRF's Duda Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edinho Valadares in the 7th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Flamengo CRF's goal looked a bit too open when Chiquinho Maia came free, but Duda Pimenta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Flamengo CRF's Duda Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edinho Valadares in the 17th minute of play. Flamengo CRF's Allan Aguiar got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Hermínio Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, Chiquinho Maia notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Flamengo CRF's Duda Pimenta. Duda Pimenta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Duda Pimenta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edinho Valadares in the 26th minute of play. When Mats Alström came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Flamengo CRF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mats Alström couldn't finish the play. After 30 minutes, Hermínio Veiga made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. VIDA NOVA ATLÉTICO CLUB's Jailson Mesquita tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 35 minutes in the game José Paulo Brito did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Chiquinho Maia. Duda Pimenta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edinho Valadares in the 36th minute of the match. Edinho Valadares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Duda Pimenta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edinho Valadares in the 41st minute of play. In the 47th minute, Allan Aguiar fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jailson Mesquita, passed just outside the right post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hermínio Veiga was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chiquinho Maia in the 53rd minute of play forced Flamengo CRF's goalkeeper Duda Pimenta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flamengo CRF's Duda Pimenta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Flamengo CRF from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chiquinho Maia during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to VIDA NOVA ATLÉTICO CLUB getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Chiquinho Maia hit a great ball. Hermínio Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Jailson Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Allan Aguiar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jailson Mesquita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermínio Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chiquinho Maia struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Duda Pimenta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VIDA NOVA ATLÉTICO CLUB. A collision led to VIDA NOVA ATLÉTICO CLUB getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Chiquinho Maia hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Hermínio Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flamengo CRF's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermínio Veiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jailson Mesquita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Allan Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 85 played minutes VIDA NOVA ATLÉTICO CLUB got a freekick which was hit by Kléberson Siqueira. Breno Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Jailson Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jailson Mesquita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Alves in the 91st minute of the match. With a little luck, Flamengo CRF's Duda Pimenta got control of the ball when Edinho Valadares tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Allan Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flamengo CRF's supporters rose to their feet, but Allan Aguiar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
