Leverkusen FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 8th minute, when Hernani Linhares scored to the left of an out of position Afonsinho Mello, making the score, 1-0. In the 15th minute, Jorge Ceresso made a precise shot to the right of Afonsinho Mello. Leverkusen FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Hernani Linhares kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Afonsinho Mello. That made the score 3-0 in the 22 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hernani Linhares to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Walmir de Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Afonsinho Mello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hernani Linhares in the 55th minute of play. Walmir de Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hernani Linhares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 67 minutes into the match, Leverkusen FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Ceresso came free, but Afonsinho Mello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Jorge Ceresso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Afonsinho Mello was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. After 73 minutes of play Leverkusen FC's Walmir de Lara was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Walmir de Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Hernani Linhares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Afonsinho Mello was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Emanuel de Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonsinho Mello having to interfere. Afonsinho Mello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Ceresso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute, Vítor Marinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 90 minutes of play, Supino FC's Jorge Ceresso made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Afonsinho Mello was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Hernani Linhares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Supino FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hernani Linhares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonsinho Mello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leverkusen FC's Afonsinho Mello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hernani Linhares in the 97th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Supino FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
