Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Tupi's Matías Veloso started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Tupi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Hermes to maneuver through the defense. Luan Neto hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, César Massa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cruxeiro AD's supporters rose to their feet, but César Massa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luciano Cruz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vágner Dionísio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Cruz having to interfere. Luciano Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cláudio Dionísio in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute Vágner Dionísio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luciano Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 18 minutes of play, Cruxeiro AD's Vágner Dionísio made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luciano Cruz was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Vágner Dionísio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Vágner Dionísio sped through Tupi's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luciano Cruz. Tupi's Fausto Salgado came free and shot a quick shot against goal 26 minutes in the game, fortunately Iuri Romero had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Iuri Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Hermes in the 28th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Tupi's zone, Vágner Dionísio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luciano Cruz came out of the goal and Vágner Dionísio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Cláudio Dionísio put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Luciano Cruz. Luciano Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélder Couto in the 39th minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Cláudio Dionísio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Luciano Cruz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vágner Dionísio to make the kick off. Iuri Romero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Hermes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes into the game, Gabriel Faria was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cruxeiro AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tupi the free kick. Iuri Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durvalino Sena in the 59th minute of play. Vágner Dionísio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Cruz having to interfere. Hélder Couto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luciano Cruz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Luciano Cruz made an important save on a dangerous shot by César Massa in the 65th minute. When Matías Veloso came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Tupi fans jumped to their feet. Vágner Dionísio did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-6 to the left of a surprised Luciano Cruz 75 minutes into the match. If Vágner Dionísio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luciano Cruz made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when César Massa sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 87 minutes, Benjamim da Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cruxeiro AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benjamim da Cunha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
