M1to Paulista FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Jerônimo Oliveira 26 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. In the 28th minute, Vítor Marinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 33 played minutes, Leverkusen FC's Flavinho Fantini shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Maurinho Cabral came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Leverkusen FC reached it. Walmir de Lara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 38 played minutes M1to Paulista FC got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Almeida. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerônimo Oliveira in the 39th minute of play forced M1to Paulista FC's goalkeeper Maurinho Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Afonsinho Mello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrianinho Miranda in the 41st minute of the match. After 43 played minutes Leverkusen FC got a freekick which was hit by Walmir de Lara. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jerônimo Oliveira was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Alfredo Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonsinho Mello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Paulo Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Afonsinho Mello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. M1to Paulista FC's Adrianinho Miranda got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adrianinho Miranda scored 1-1 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Afonsinho Mello, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Adrianinho Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Afonsinho Mello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Walmir de Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84thth minute of the game Jerônimo Oliveira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but M1to Paulista FC's Maurinho Cabral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guga Ortiz during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 94 minutes into the match, Leverkusen FC's goalkeeper Afonsinho Mello had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adrianinho Miranda.
