The supporters of Araucaria booed when Susano AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Ramalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Araucaria's Leonel Xavier tried to score from far away in the 12th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manfredo Marquez in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Paulo Leite prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Waldir Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Araucaria's Manfredo Marquez got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Susano AD defense, Manfredo Marquez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zé Paulo Leite. The Susano AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé Paulo Leite should have stopped the shot. 29 minutes into the match, Manfredo Marquez notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Susano AD's Zé Paulo Leite. Zé Paulo Leite was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 31st match minute, Araucaria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio Ferraz to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, Franklin Mazza fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Válter Medeiros, passed just outside the right post. Zé Paulo Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manfredo Marquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé Paulo Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waldir Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Susano AD's zone, Manfredo Marquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Paulo Leite came out of the goal and Manfredo Marquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Waldir Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. A collision led to Susano AD getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Alan Machado hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Franklin Mazza made a kick off. If Waldir Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Susano AD getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Alan Machado hit a great ball. Araucaria's Leonel Xavier couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 58th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Susano AD. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manfredo Marquez in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zé Paulo Leite saved Susano AD from getting behind. After some careless play in the Susano AD defense, Waldir Cunha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zé Paulo Leite. The Susano AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé Paulo Leite should have stopped the shot. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Susano AD's goalkeeper Zé Paulo Leite, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sérgio Castro in the 79th minute of play forced Araucaria's goalkeeper Válter Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute, Waldir Cunha made a precise shot to the right of Zé Paulo Leite. Susano AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. Waldir Cunha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zé Paulo Leite having to make a save. 88 minutes into the game, Manfredo Marquez recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Zé Paulo Leite. Manfredo Marquez showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-6. 92 minutes into the match, Araucaria's goal looked a bit too open when Franklin Mazza came free, but Válter Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Susano AD's Zé Paulo Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfredo Marquez in the 96th minute of play. Araucaria played a much better game than Susano AD and deserved their victory. The Susano AD players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
