Clóvis Lira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Pontes having to interfere. Hugo Pontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardinho Castro in the 8th minute of play. Kiko França hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute, Gilmar Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bernardinho Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17thth minute of the game Cássio Sanches who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but NWLO's Samuca Salgado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Percy Dracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cássio Sanches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the match, NWLO's goalkeeper Samuca Salgado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Percy Dracena. Hugo Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clóvis Lira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Percy Dracena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Samuca Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After 59 played minutes NWLO got a freekick which was hit by Elder Donato. In the 62nd minute Cássio Sanches shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuca Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Percy Dracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 65 minutes, Cássio Sanches managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Faisqueiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cássio Sanches was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. NWLO's Samuca Salgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Percy Dracena in the 66th minute of play. After a rather tough play, NWLO's Germano Marinho got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 69th match minute, NWLO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elder Donato to maneuver through the defense. Cássio Sanches fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuca Salgado having to interfere. The supporters of NWLO booed when Faisqueiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toninho Martins didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 79 played minutes NWLO got a freekick which was hit by Nico Sergipano. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clóvis Lira got free with Hugo Pontes in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bernardinho Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clóvis Lira got free with Hugo Pontes in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
