Thiago Matos did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Hugo Pontes 14 minutes into the match. Thiago Matos in the 17thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hugo Pontes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Thiago Matos took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hugo Pontes. Hugo Pontes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. A collision led to Canto do Rio getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Bruno Paraíba hit a great ball. After 24 played minutes, Faisqueiro's Toninho Martins shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fausto Simões came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Faisqueiro reached it. In the 24th minute, Bruno Paraíba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maurício da Silva took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fausto Simões. Canto do Rio's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bruno Paraíba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Pontes having to interfere. Romário Damião took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fausto Simões. Canto do Rio's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A hard shot 34 in the game by Thiago Matos from a close distance when the talented Hugo Pontes managed to make a qualified save. Faisqueiro's players were relieved. In the 35th minute Canto do Rio were awarded a corner. Bruno Paraíba went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Bruno Paraíba almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Faisqueiro's Hugo Pontes did a great save. The crowd rose to their feet as Canto do Rio's Thiago Matos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hugo Pontes. That made the score 3-0 after 38 minutes of play. Hugo Pontes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thiago Matos went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thiago Matos was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Faisqueiro's Kiko França got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Thiago Matos took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hugo Pontes. Hugo Pontes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. 59 minutes into the game, Thiago Matos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Hugo Pontes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hugo Pontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thiago Matos, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 67 minutes into the match, Thiago Matos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hugo Pontes. Faisqueiro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thiago Matos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. Luizão Zonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd minute, Nilton Bastos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Canto do Rio fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. Hugo Pontes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thiago Matos went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 9-0 was the resulting score. 78 minutes into the match, Faisqueiro's goal looked a bit too open when Thiago Matos came free, but Hugo Pontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fausto Simões made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Percy Dracena sent off a good shot on target. Thiago Matos struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Hugo Pontes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canto do Rio. Bruno Paraíba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Hugo Pontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Canto do Rio's goalkeeper Fausto Simões had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Percy Dracena. 96 minutes into the game, Percy Dracena recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fausto Simões. Percy Dracena showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 10-1. When the referee ended the match the Canto do Rio players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
