With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aníbal Prata prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Raúl Sarmento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Aníbal Prata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 21 minutes, Claudinei Maia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the TIU Futebol Clube and the São Gaffo Futebol Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, TIU Futebol Clube's Claudinei Maia got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 22ndth minute of the game Edmílson Quintal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but TIU Futebol Clube's Aníbal Prata was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmílson Quintal couldn't finish the play. Erik Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Tiaguinho Paranaense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 43 minutes of play, TIU Futebol Clube's Claudinei Maia made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tiaguinho Paranaense was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The TIU Futebol Clube fans cheered their team off the field, for while São Gaffo Futebol Clube had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
