In the 48th minute Wilton Quadros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuca Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bernardinho Castro was the one to do the kick off. Libanesa's Wilton Quadros got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 56 minutes into the game, Elder Donato was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. NWLO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Libanesa the free kick. In the 56th minute, Elder Donato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Augusto Vergílio succeeded in the game's 60th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. Bernardinho Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Barros having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, Libanesa's goal looked a bit too open when Clóvis Lira came free, but Celso Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th match minute, Libanesa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Augusto Vergílio to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute, Bernardinho Castro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Samuca Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Augusto Vergílio in the 75th minute of play. Samuca Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Augusto Vergílio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of NWLO booed when Libanesa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matheus Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clóvis Lira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Magno Quadros lost his temper 83 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 83 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Libanesa! If Bernardinho Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Libanesa getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Luís Fernando Sanches hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Bernardinho Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot. NWLO's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernardinho Castro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celso Barros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. NWLO's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
