Celso Tinoco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tercado's Celso Tinoco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelinho Bueno in the 17th minute of play. Marcelinho Bueno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. São Gaffo Futebol Clube's Tiaguinho Paranaense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Luís Mattos in the 22nd minute of play. Tiaguinho Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilmar Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcelinho Bueno made a kick off. After a rather tough play, São Gaffo Futebol Clube's Gugu Leme got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 55th minute, André Luís Mattos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in São Gaffo Futebol Clube's zone, Gilmar Duarte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiaguinho Paranaense came out of the goal and Gilmar Duarte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The São Gaffo Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tiaguinho Paranaense should have stopped the shot. The supporters of São Gaffo Futebol Clube booed when Tercado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 90 played minutes Tercado got a freekick which was hit by Horácio Santana. 93 minutes into the game, Gugu Leme was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. São Gaffo Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tercado the free kick. Gugu Leme hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
