Dráuzio Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Lino Coutinho was a little too slow when Hudson Paraibano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 9th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 14th minute Eusébio do Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Coutinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Alberto de Amorim's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlos Augusto da Rocha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Carlos Alberto de Amorim struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Carlos Augusto da Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BICHO SOLTO. Carlos Augusto da Rocha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Diniz, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. If Carlos Alberto de Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute, Dráuzio Andrade got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Montevideu's Carlos Augusto da Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Diniz in the 48th minute of play.

The wind increased when Eusébio do Nascimento made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Carlos Alberto de Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot. BICHO SOLTO's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Alberto de Amorim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Augusto da Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Alberto de Amorim's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlos Augusto da Rocha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. After having played for 60 minutes, Rafael Diniz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BICHO SOLTO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Diniz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eusébio do Nascimento blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lino Coutinho having to make a save. Caco Vidal struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Lino Coutinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montevideu. Eusébio do Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Rafael Diniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. BICHO SOLTO's Carlos Alberto de Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lino Coutinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusébio do Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 94th minute, Eusébio do Nascimento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Montevideu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Montevideu were victorious despite being under pressure from BICHO SOLTO for much of the match.
