After some careless play in the Rubro Negro Rj defense, Lucas Mota kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulo Domingues. The Rubro Negro Rj fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo Domingues should have stopped the shot. Kiko Neves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Edmundo Salles made a huge save. Edmundo Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelsinho Lago in the 34th minute of play. Kiko Neves struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Edmundo Salles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rubro Negro Rj. In the 36th minute, Rubro Negro Rj's Nelsinho Lago ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Edmundo Salles. Edmundo Salles yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. If Nelsinho Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kiko Neves got free with Edmundo Salles in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rubro Negro Rj's Nelsinho Lago got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bernardo Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmundo Salles having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lucas Mota was the one to do the kick off. Rubro Negro Rj's supporters rose to their feet, but Nelsinho Lago was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmundo Salles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paulo Domingues didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lucas Mota went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. In the 73rd minute, Kiko Neves made a precise shot to the right of Edmundo Salles. Solar Paulistano's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. Luiz Fabiano Carioca's late challenge caught a Rubro Negro Rj's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Fabiano Carioca helped the player get up and apologised. Luiz Fabiano Carioca kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. If Nelsinho Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute, Nelsinho Lago got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
